Tips for Sellers!

What is staging?

Staging homes has been around for ages. It is one of the ways to get top dollar for your home as well as decrease market time. Staging is the art of "re-decorating" your home for resale purposes. A professional stager will bring in additional decorating ideas, props, and move furniture to optimize room sizes, create a natural flow within the house, and give buyers the best possible first impression. Staging helps to show off a homes architectural features.

Why will staging help me sell my house?

In almost every instance staging will help a home seller sell their home faster and for more money. Staging has become a necessity for every home to ensure top dollar. It has been common that staged homes sell for 2-30% more than homes that are not staged. Every builder has a "stager" or professional decorater work on their models to ensure that buyers receive the best first impression. Staging a sellers house is no different, and causes the sellers house to stand out amongst the other homes available on the market.

Staging is important because it seperates the architectural details of a home from the owner's belongings and decorating style. The way a seller lives in their house is very different than the way a house should look when it is advertised on the real estate market. Creating the best first impression for buyers is essential in every market, and stager are trained to "set the stage" for buyers through their services.

How much will this service cost me?

Professional stagers often charge different rates. It's important to get an estimate from stagers after they've seen your house to find out their rate. Some Realtors, such as myself, include staging in their listing services. In most cases the cost is offset by the increase in the final sales price.
